2 David would build God an house, but is forbidden by the Prophet Nathan. 8 God putteth David in mind of his benefits. 12 He promiseth continuance of his kingdom and posterity.

Afterward (A)when the King sat in his house, and the Lord had given him rest round about from all his enemies,

The King said unto Nathan the Prophet, Behold, now I dwell in an house of cedar trees, and the Ark of God remaineth within the [a]curtains.

Then Nathan said unto the king, Go, and do all that is in thine heart: for the Lord is with thee.
